Choosing a Cage for Your Rabbit

Once you have decided that a rabbit is the right pet for you, you need to purchase a cage for the rabbit to live in. The one factor that you should understand is that the cage is a very important part of integrating a rabbit into your home.

Cages for rabbits come in all different shapes and sizes, depending on what type of rabbit you have. You should also understand that rabbits come in all shapes and sizes as well, so it might take some time to find a cage which provides the perfect fit. When looking for a cage, one of the first factors that you need to consider is its size. Rabbits are active creatures and will require ample space to move around in. You should only look at cages that will be at least 3 times the size of your rabbit. If you choose a cage smaller than that, the rabbit might feel cramped and bored.

The next factor that you need to consider is what types of play toys you will put in the cage for the rabbit to play with. Rabbits can become bored easily if you don’t provide ample entertainment. You should also remember that the toys don’t have to be extravagant to be fun for your bunny. Some rabbits enjoy playing with empty toilet paper and paper towel rolls. It all depends on what you have around your home.
